STELLA ended the year 2016 with positive financial results. The operational activity in 2016 has been in surplus despite the slight revenue and transport volume decrease compared to 2015 and 2014.
It has been a year of solid progress and achievement for STELLA. Guided by our model of competitive and profitable growth, we out-performed well with positive operational EBITA. The prime objective of STELLA is still to achieve a long-term profitable growth along with close business relations with customers and rather conservative risk management.
STELLA has signed several new contracts with world-wide logistics providers (DAMCO, Collyer Logistics, etc) and tries to obtain actively the business from Far East at the same time broadening the scope of services with the focus on domestic markets (Finland, Baltics).
We see 2017 in much lighter tones compared to previous years maintaining the realistic picture about the business opportunities on the local market and internationally. The focus will shift slightly to the project logistics and freight forwarding along with the growing global demand for container transportation*, while the volume of transit operations and warehousing services related to import to Russia will stay on the same level.
* IHS Global Insight (July 2016) has forecast a rise in global container Shipments of 2.2% to around 132 million TEU in 2016 and a further 3.8% to 137 million TEU in 2017.
